Its my life ….. is it ?

You are 22 years old . . .

or 274 months old
or 1189 weeks old
or 8328 days old
or 199872 hours old
or 11992343 minutes old
or 719540588 seconds old

And, your next birthday is in:
72 days 11 hrs 37 mins 52 secs …..and counting down …..

That was the age calculator helping me find out exactly for how long I have been born. Now this is probably the last thing u want to do when u r hopelessly lost trying to figure out things that r happening in ur life. Just when u thought u had it all firgured out , just when u thought u were in control of urself , ur present ….and hopefully the future….u just awaken to c urself in probably the last place u wana b , doing something u didn’t even wana give a go at ……

It just sparks this one question ……… what do I actually wana do ? How I wish i was smart enough to figure out this one!

Age 5 …..what do u wana b ? wana become a big boy

Age 10 ….. "…… wana b a mechanic ( he gets to ride all kinda bikes …)

Age 15 ……"….. wana b an astronaut ( had learnt man was on the moon )

Age 18 ……"….. wana b a mechanical engineer

Age 23 ……. "Bachelors in Computer Science Engineering" ………….. into an IT company …..blogging …..

What went wrong ? and where ? When were the choices made …..did i have one ?? When u sit back and think abt the chain of events that linked one another down from where it all started to where u r now ….and probably where u r heading , u r left with no choice but to rationalize how u were reacting to every situation u were put into, just trying to fit into the situation and getting the most of it ….. hoping u had made the best possible decision at that moment.

Feels terribly odd to realise u have arrived at an all new place and figure out later that its somewhere  u just didnt wana b …..

Feel so outa place 😦

Someone once told me that “Change is the way of life” and “Adapt to survive”… I guess its a combination of Adaption and change that leads us to things in life…

Like lets say you did not make it in time to that play yesterday, you might hv gone another 20 years without watching plays :P. Now the odds are you might watch one next week considering you enjoyed this one 🙂

Its hard to challenge the midset at different stages of life… its highly dependent on (at that time) recent experiences and ambitions… Those have a nagging habit of changing… not to mention the ever involved thing called simply “coincidence”

Its my life….absolutely!Only if u want it so and really work towards it.I think choice is always there. Its upto us as to what we choose."What do I actually wanna do?"I think this is one question for which we all r looking for an answer and i think probably one of the most difficult ones(atleast for me).Right now each day is like hell and i really dont know why the hell am i even putting myself through it!!!!!

    Haas :

The uncertainty of things comming your way seems to largely play a role in us having opinions abt the change that a recent experience or an endeavour has brought abt…. If its something u wished for , the chain grows by one link in the right direction … else u wished u never had that link in ur chain… but its really feels ackward when u realise it a little late !! 😦

    Swetha :

    The feeling is mutual !! 😦 I understand how u feel !!

    Rashmi :

I probably thought about the whole think similary sometime ago ….. when u feel u have the reins of ur life in ur hand… but then when it comes to choices life gives u , there wud b an instance when u wud feel u have been outwitted … feel that life was unfair …. or worst yet believing that u always had a choice otherwise …. may b its the way v think and look at it …

u all sound like a bunch princesses who want eveything in a freaking silver spoon.. U are all young.. life is still like an ocean with no shore in sight..wats life without experiencing some of the crap that it throws at you.. if u think its going to be a bed of roses and u expect to get whatever u want to get without a fight.. then i suggest u all book a bed in a retirement home right away..
Think about it.. its not “LIFE” ur living without all the good stuff and most importantly all the bad stuff.. speed bumps in life will come and go.. smooth roads will always follow:))

PS: hemanth.. i will be a hypocrit if i say that i do not feel the way u feel right now. But these phases come and go..i think we all need to change our perspective and look at the big picture

Ya, very true reshma, but then experiencing every single piece of the jig saw puzzle without knowing what you r trying to put together and where is what bothers us at the spur of the momment…..

Agreed that eventually its the big picture u must b worried abt, then its these small pieces that make the big picture …. not that v detest from calling these experiences our own ….. but do we really have a choice ? Are v smart enough to identify them and bold enough to undertake them!!

Hi,was reading something and came across these quotes..thought shall share it ……Since I always hear u saying “I had NO CHOICE”:D
“In the long run, we shape our lives, and we shape ourselves. The process never ends until we die. And the choices we make are ultimately our own responsibility.”Eleanor Rossevelt

“Allow the world to live as it chooses, and allow yourself to live as you choose.”Richard Bach

Some choices we live not only once but a thousand times over, remembering them for the rest of our lives.-This is damn true!

And btw u should read Richard Bach’s “ONE”

    This one is abt change
If you don’t like something change it; if you can’t change it, change the way you think about it. ~Mary Engelbreit
